Greetings from the Principal of Hansraj College! As a premier institution of higher education, Hansraj College offers its students a unique blend of modern education anchored in hallowed Vedic values. The college is guided in its mission of combining the best of tradition and modernity by the vision of Mahatma Hans Raj. It is in the memory of Mahatma ji, a pioneer in the field of education, that the D.A.V. College Management Committee had founded the college on 26th July, 1948. The college has been contributing to the solemn task of nation-building since its very inception. The exemplary service the college has rendered society has received due recognition in several nationwide surveys that have consistently ranked Hansraj College among the top five out of about 5000 colleges in India.

Hansraj College is known for offering a state of art infrastructure to meet the pedagogic and research needs of its students and faculty members. These include a well-stocked Central Library and a Book Bank for economically disadvantaged students. The science departments have sprawling wings that house eighteen Science Labs and six Computer Labs.

Alongside its rigorous academic standards the college maintains a vibrant tradition of co-curricular activities. Our students complement their academic lives with active engagement in the fields of sports, theatre, debate, music, photography and the fine arts. The college auditorium, amphitheatre and the multiple seminar rooms equipped with latest sound and projection systems facilitate a plethora of academic and co-curricular exchanges. The college also boasts of an exemplary record of in the field of sports. We are the only college in the University to house an Electronic Shooting Range. Our sportspersons also have access to a sprawling play ground, an Indoor Sports Complex and several playrooms.

I am fortunate to be a part of the Hansraj family which untiringly assists me in my efforts to continually raise the benchmark of our success. A dedicated team of faculty members and non-teaching staff form the backbone of our institutional machinery. I view my role as an administrator and a friend who facilitates overall development of the students of the college.
